Board and schedule show the same record, not two copies to keep in sync. Change a name, a date or the progress, and you only switch the view, not the object.
What sits in the backlog isn't part of the plan yet. Drag the card to Stage and it becomes a scheduled task.
Each column decides whether its cards get a row in the schedule. Hide a column, say Archive, and its rows disappear. Parent spans, critical path, baseline and variance still count them. Tidying up changes what you see, not the numbers.
